Ice Update 05/01/2026

We have seen some major changes in the ice over the last 48 hrs. The ice has darkened overall and have a few more areas of dark ice rot spots. Additionally, there is a nice channel of overflow flowing along the Tanana River dock. Upriver from the Tripod beyond the black railroad bridge, there is open flowing water around the bend of the river. Beyond that, further upriver, there is a nice channel of open water along the bank that goes past Nenana Native Association's Culture Camp. Downriver from the Tripod, the Nenana River is open and flowing.
