What is the Tripod Days Celebration?

The Nenana community is all too familiar with the first weekend of March. This date is reserved to come together and celebrate the tradition of working together to raise the Nenana Ice Classic Tripod out on the ice, in front of our town, on the Tanana river. People from all across Alaska come to Nenana to participate in the many festivities, from hoola-hoop dancing, to donut eating contests, or our annual Tug-A-War(Locals vs. Visitors), but no matter who participates, EVERYONE GETS A DOLLAR!!! Come be a part of tradition, Saturday March 7th and Sunday March 8th at the Nenana Civic Center, for our annual Tripod Days celebration! We hope to see you there in this unique community event
